GISMAECR becomes part of the regional policy of the Lugansk region

Therefore, already at the stage of developing the program, the Advisory Council on social unity under the UN program for the restoration and development of peace and the Regional Coordination Council for the development of civil society were involved in its preparation and discussion.

But it should be noted that experts from Chile of representatives of the GISMAOVK movement also participated in this process, went to meetings, presented their work, and took part in discussions.

As noted by Irina Mikhaleva, coordinator of the project «introduction of innovative mechanisms of GISMAOVK at the community level», which is currently implemented by the NGO «Foundation „space“ in collaboration with the UN program for the restoration and development of peace, together with the partner institution — the Department of mass communions of the Lgan regional state administration, now all public events on the project will be carried out. Because the GISMAOVK experiment itself has now become part of the regional program, and therefore the regional policy of the region. She also provided information about the project and its competition for the selection of communities for piloting GISMAOVC mechanisms at the level of communities in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, which are planned to be selected on a competitive basis for more thorough cooperation. 

As Anna Borova, author and manager of the GISMAOVK experiment, noted: „two years ago, few people believed that this experiment was a sustainable system for dealing with conflicts and problems, and over the years we honed it with a team of specialists thanks to the UN program for the restoration and development of peace. But now that the experiment has proved useful, we can already see how the authorities at various levels recognize this work and try to implement it in their program and strategic documents.“
