The second practical module of local Analysts of GISMAECR for the Zaporozhye region has been completed

During August 12-15, participants of the training focused on the following topics::

• The work of a network of local analysts working to identify conflicts in communities through a Geoinformation system for monitoring, analyzing and evaluating conflicts in Luhansk, Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.
• System analysis of conflicts. New approaches to Conflict Analysis. Methods and forms of long-term revision of collected cases.
• Internal communication of GISMAOVK-technical component, features of work in the personal accounts of local analysts of GISMAOVK.

They worked in working groups and learned how to support the case, dynamics and features of conflict development. We worked out the key concepts and techniques of «I–message» and feedback techniques. We set up personal accounts on the online platform and learned how to apply key terminology.

Dealt with:

• typology of interlocutors and techniques of working with them. We worked out the strengths and weaknesses of each type, techniques for working with different types, and the algorithm for working with an angry interlocutor;
• alternative ways to resolve conflicts: mediation, facilitation, negotiations.
• effective communication: dialogue, nonviolent communication, and feedback.
• conflict monitoring methods;
• basic principles of impartiality, validity, evidence, anonymity and confidentiality in the work of a local analyst of GISMAOVK.

They got acquainted with the international practice of early detection, response and Prevention of conflicts and learned how to predict the development of conflict.

Now, for a month, analysts will practice and demonstrate their knowledge acquisition in practice, after which they will sign the «code of local analyst GISMAOVK» and start working effectively.

According to the results of the workshop, 15 people from among those who studied will definitely decide that they will be able to perform the function of an analyst at GISMAOVK and work for the Zaporozhye region.

Thus, the team of analysts has increased and will work for the Zaporozhye region as well. As part of their work, analysts will monitor conflicts in communities, fill in the GISMAOVK system, popularize non-conflict communication, mediation and mediation methods for conflict resolution together with other specialists who worked and are currently working in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions as part of the GISMAOVK network of analysts.

All participants expressed their positive impressions and thanked the coaches: Galina Bozhenko, Yulia Kopninskaya-Petrichenko and Anna Borovaya.

The training was held within the framework of the UN program for the restoration and development of peace with the financial support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
