Dialogue meeting of GISMAECR mediators and representatives of the Chernihivs'ka territorial community of the Zaporozhye region

During the meeting, it was established that the issue of providing high-quality drinking water to the settlements of the Chernihiv territorial community is an urgent problem for the community, in particular due to the geographical features of the district's location. Rivers that flow through the territory of the Zaporozhye region, both in terms of the density of the hydrographic network and in terms of water content, are unevenly distributed. Settlements of the Chernihiv settlement council do not have permanent and reliable sources of drinking water.

As a result of a joint discussion of the current problem, the chairman of the Chernihiv village council, Vitaly Manich, noted the peculiarity of the location of the centralized supply network and the use of underground sources to provide drinking water to settlements of the Chernihiv territorial community. The Chernihiv community has a vision of options for solving this issue in the long term through significant financial investments in the construction of a centralized water supply network.

During the meeting, it was noted about the need to update a specialized vehicle that is used to provide drinking water to settlements of the Chernihiv territorial community that use imported water due to the fact that the existing vehicle has been in operation since 1991 and has completely exhausted its own resource.

Also, the director of KP «Chernihiv Production Department of Housing and communal services», noted the feasibility of equipping existing wells with purification and filtration systems to ensure water quality at existing wells.

As a result of a joint discussion of ways to resolve the situation regarding the sustainable provision of high-quality drinking water to the settlements of the Chernihiv territorial community, it was decided to work together with the intermediaries of GISMAOVK with representatives of the Chernihiv village council for a more detailed analysis of the needs of the community and write an analytical reference on this issue.

At the end of the meeting, all participants in the dialogue noted the effectiveness of the event and expressed their readiness for further cooperation with GISMAOVC mediators on problematic issues in order to find common solutions.
