Confrontation between Rubizhne activists and representatives of local authorities

Rubizhne activists oppose illegal activities of local authorities and manifestations of "usurpation of power".

1.the session of the Severodonetsk District Council was held for the third time on 02,12,2020. The activists opposed and tried to interfere with the session by explaining their actions by violating the law (the law on local self-government bodies and the process of their creation). The following violations were noted: the absence of a quorum and the impossibility of holding the session before the legal official formation of the Severodonetsk District Council as a body, as well as the illegal use of the premises of the Rubezhansky City Council (without official permission, on a day off, without disclosing information about the appointment of the session). Activists were also outraged by the fact that the registration of newly elected deputies took place in masks, without presenting any identity document. They noted the suspicion that other people were registering for the Quorum meeting.

2.the media and activists were not allowed to attend the session of the Rubezhansky City Council, which took place on 28.11.2020. Vice-chairpersons were elected. But the confrontation between activists and the city council began a few days before the session. It was noted that candidates for the positions of deputy mayors have occupied future official offices before their official appointment, set them up and study the working documentation. They noted that this is illegal. Comments from future deputy mayors were: "write a request and we will give an answer", "I don't know if they have the right to be in the office", "we are working". Activists were also outraged by the attitude of officials towards them – audacity.

It was noted that the elected mayor is a representative of people's deputy S. Shakhov. And the behavior of government officials was assessed as a usurpation of power.
