Protest of local residents due to the destruction of the road by large trucks carrying slag

Due to dissatisfaction with the condition of the road along which slag is transported from Metinvest's plants, carrier companies do not comply with weight standards, as a result of which the road surface is destroyed and accidents often occur on that section of the road. After another road accident in the village of Sartana, local residents blocked the road, which caused traffic jams. But representatives of the carrier company did not engage in a dialogue with the community. Representatives of the Azovstal iron and steel works, which is part of the Metinvest holding, promised residents to clear the road of dirt and monitor compliance with weight standards during the transportation of slag. Representatives of the police did not provide any information on this issue
