Rally of employees of the Azov ship repair plant against its closure

On February 1, the captain of the Mariupol Seaport issued an order "banning mooring of vessels to hydraulic structures in the water area of SRZ LLC(berths and dock pit). The reason for this order was the expiration of the permit documents of the Register of shipping of Ukraine (until 31.12.2019). Because of this ban, the work of the ASRZ is completely paralyzed and threatens to close and lay off about 500 workers. On February 25, 100 workers of the plant went to a peaceful rally under the walls of the Levoberezhnaya district administration. Also, due to the downtime of the enterprise, a debt for electricity was formed - UAH 2.6 million. DTEK threatens to turn off electricity supply in the coming days. The company is confident that without electricity, the dock may sink, which can cause oil products to get into the sea, and this can turn into a man-made and environmental disaster.
