Rally of Veterans of the anti-terrorist operation and environmental protection on acute problems and dissatisfaction with the local and national authorities

Participants of the Anti-Terrorist Operation/OOS from the Luhansk region gathered on May 14 for a rally-discussion near the building of the Luhansk regional military-civil administration in the city of Severodonetsk.

According to the representative in the Council of veterans under the Ministry of Veterans ' Affairs from the Luhansk region, Vladimir Pravenky, "participants in the war with Russia were forced to take such measures "because of the inappropriate attitude of local authorities towards them."

The last drop before the rally, according to V. Pravenky, was the events related to the decision to establish the "bell of reconciliation". He noted that "a wave of indignation has risen from the participants of military operations, families of the victims and volunteers. In response to this, the director of the Department of mass communications of the Luhansk regional military-civil administration, Albina Kusheleva, called all those who did not like reconciliation with the aggressor "nobody" and said that "nothing connects them with the occupied part of Luhansk region." "Volodymyr Pravenky says that such a position is offensive to the veteran community of Luhansk region."

The following problems were put forward in the invitation to participate in the protest action:

Failure to provide social support, medical care, and psychological support to ATO / OOS participants and their families, and the absence of VETERAN HAB in the region are veteran spaces.

Improper execution and sabotage by the authorities on the allocation of land plots to ATO / OOS participants and their family members.

Lack of support for the ATO-IDP in matters of Social Protection, Employment, and allocation of residential premises. * Sabotage and ignoring by representatives of state and local authorities of the issues of legalizing the burial place of volunteers in Starobilsk, Luhansk region, and arranging its compliance with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine, destroying the positive image of a veteran, undermining confidence in state authorities.

Lack of response by representatives of state, local authorities and law enforcement agencies to persons who express pro-Russian and separatist views and hold positions in local self-government bodies. * The decline of infrastructure in cities and towns (AHS) and the disregard of public holidays and programs of patriotic education of young people by managers.

Increase in utility tariffs and prices.

Personnel appointments of officials in the Luhansk region by the president of Ukraine and the chairman of the Luhansk regional state administration. Veterans invited all concerned citizens and representatives of the NGO of Luhansk region to participate in the event. It should be noted that the community attended the meeting and presented their problems and positions. Veterans from other cities of Ukraine also joined the action.

During the rally, it was decided to create a coordination council that will communicate with the authorities and monitor the resolution of issues that were raised. As a result of the event, the resolution on the meeting was supplemented with questions from the communities that joined the action. As noted in the State Emergency Service "Association of war veterans, participants of military operations and volunteers of the anti-terrorist operation of the Luhansk region", the resolution on the results of the meeting will be sent to the president of Ukraine, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. It is also worth noting that representatives of the Luhansk regional CAA did not come to the event.
