Situations with stray animals vary from community to community. This time the dialogue meeting took place in the city of Zaporozhye.

As a result of the discussion, the participants present confirmed the existence of the problem of homeless animals in the city of Zaporozhye and the importance of solving this problem.

The director of the Municipal enterprise “Pobutovik” noted that the existing city program to resolve the situation with homeless animals in the city of Zaporozhye, which ends in 2020, is ineffective and requires revision and editing for the future. Also, this program has insufficient funding, which does not allow it to fully perform the functions of sterilizing stray animals.

The chairman of the public organization gave examples of effective solutions to the problem of stray animals and the organization of the sterilization process in other communities, as well as examples of alternative additional options for financing projects by international organizations. However, it was also said that for cooperation and implementation of projects in partnership with international organizations, the aspect of interaction between the public sector and local authorities is very important.

As a result of the discussion, the meeting participants agreed on the need for fruitful cooperation between local authorities and representatives of public organizations to effectively solve the problem of homeless animals in the city, mutual participation in the development of city programs to address the problem of keeping and sterilizing homeless animals, as well as the possibility of attracting experts from neighboring communities to exchange experience. The participants agreed that a joint public event will be held within a week. The partnership spipracia that has emerged as a result of zutsrichi can be all the more effective at the time when the relevant city program ends, the results of its implementation will be summed up and the development of a new city program document is planned, which, thanks to future cooperation between the authorities and the public, can be more relevant and effective for the next period of implementation in the future. 

The participants of the dialogue meeting expressed gratitude to the facilitators of GISMAOVC for the opportunity to create a dialogue maybanchik and unite the parties interested in solving the problem, which was previously impossible, and also expressed the hope that interaction between the public and the authorities will contribute to solving the problem.
